Located about dead center in the state, Magnolia Delaware is a small little town of 225 people on about 128 acres. Jonathan’s Landing is a golf course on the edge of Magnolia and the clubhouse is managed by Craig Coffield. Craig has been one of  the driving forces behind the Central Delaware Blues Society.  The CDBS has been hosting Jams and nationally known blues acts for a while now at the Clubhouse. Tonight I had the chance to see and do some photos of Moreland and Arbuckle for their stop. Wow, I was blown away. A nationally known act rocking and bluesing it up right here in central Delaware. They were awesome! Extremely talented and great music too!

Guitarist Aaron Moreland rocked it out with several guitars, including a cigar box guitar that I had never heard of before. The guitar has 4 strings. One is for a bass guitar and the other three for a regular electric guitar. It’s an amazing instrument to listen to him play.

Harpist/vocalist Dustin Arbuckle played the harmonica for most songs and the guitar for a few. He also sang for both sets the group did. They rocked out several classic blues songs and of course their own stuff too. Arbuckle did a harmonica solo that got the group a standing O from the crowd.  Drummer Kendall Newby blew me away too.
I’m looking forward to the next appearance of  Moreland and Arbuckle in the area, and more nationally known groups at Jonathan’s Landing! Central Delaware music owes a lot to Craig Coffield and the Central Delaware Blues Society!
