The Lone Stalk

The light was cool on this single reed, it was at least 10-20 feet from it’s closest neighbor.

Birds from Bombay Hook

Some cool bird shots from Bombay Hook. I really need at least a 400mm lense to get what I want, a 600mm would be better. Since were talking several grand, that’ll have to wait!

The geese jumping up for some reason. I like the goose on the right, whose head can’t be seen because of the way his wings are wrapped around.

Great blue heron near the structure from my last BH post. I wonder if he’s the same one. I took this photo through a fence, you can kind of see the pattern if you know to look for it.

This is a classic eagle pose. Too bad he was so totally back lit, I had to pump up the light in the shot. It’s not that great, but it’s still a cool eagle shot.

Bombay Hook first thing in the morning

I got up early to day to see what I could get into photographically. I headed for BH hoping for big flocks of Snow geese jumping up. I got these instead.

This is as close as I’ve ever gotten to the way the sun shines through the seeds on the reeds at dusk, or dawn. I love the transient moment of the light, it feels nostalgic and dreamy to me….

I liked the layers on this one

Frost on the plant is cool!
