Towers on Gordons Pond Beach, Delaware These towers were part of a coastal defense system. They called in coordinates to a neaby gun emplacement with a 12 inch gun capable of hitting New Jersey and thus defending the Delaware Bay and Port of Philadelphia. There were 11 of these towers.
