I saw this railing outside The Lyric Theater in downtown Tupelo, Mississippi on my last trip there. I tried to line the cracks up for the corners to see what would happen, and I think this came out kind of cool. I like abstractions where you wonder for a bit what exactly you’re looking at.
I went to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond in January to see the Edward Hopper show there. It was a great show, in a beautiful museum! I’ve never been there before. It was definitely worth the 4 hours down and 4 hours back to see the show and museum. I loved the Faberge Eggs there too.
After the main course, I came on the Sculptures directly adjacent to the Museum and had to do some photos.
Amazing sculpture on the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts grounds.
The awesome sculpture “Chloe” by Jaume Plensa got about 2 rolls of film dedicated to it! One black and white and the other color. It was a beautiful day for photos!
Double Exposure of two sculptures at VMFA.
I did a double exposure of the Plensa sculpture and the Man and Vegetation sculpture by Sandro Chia. I’m never sure what I’m going to get when I do a double exposure, but I liked this!
Here we go! Still in Mississippi! Black and white or color? I think fire hydrants are cool. Every city does theirs different colors, and they all have different designs. I “know” there’s a photo there when I see them, but I don’t often get something I like. I think I did ok with these though.
I tried to be intentional with the shadows, and hoped to catch the silverynessosity of the body of the hydrant. Same town, different hydrant! Again, I was watching the shadows, as seen with this on exiting through the bottom right corner
